Thermal and membrane protection for high pressure sensors / HPS-Protection

To shield the sensor membrane from high energy particles and molten metals, the membrane protection is ideally suited. A membrane protection also slightly decreases the thermal shock measured with front sealing sensors.

For events where the membrane is subjected to heat over a longer duration, resulting in a measurable thermal shock, the thermal protection achieves better results. Thermal protection plates need to be replaced more frequently, resulting in higher effort compared to membrane protection.
